Hello everyone! As some of you may or may not know, my name is Esther and I am a current sophomore at Laurel School. I am reaching out to you all because I have an opportunity for you to get involved with Breakthrough and their 8th graders. You can help make a meaningful difference for these students!

Currently, I am connecting with other Breakthrough graduates, and even current 8th graders, about their experiences with the high school application process. What I have found is that, as Breakthrough alumni, we have the chance to engage with these students and help them on their journey to high school. Students feel more comfortable with reaching out to other students around their age about any questions that they may have, and that is where we come in!

I want to work with fellow Breakthrough graduates like you on ways as to how we can provide the support these students need during this transition. What I envision is some sort of student mentoring program where current 8th graders would be connected with an alumnus who currently attends an independent school that the 8th grader is interested in. I need your help in making this happen, and to make sure that we can get as many schools represented as possible!

Please let me know if you have any interest at all, and I would be more than happy to connect with you and talk further about this initiative!

I look forward to hearing from you.  You can reach me at eling@laurelschool.org

Thank so much!
