Career Prep Course

No matter your path, you will eventually be looking for employment and a meaningful career. This could be internships or a summer job during your earlier years, or full time employment when you're ready. Here's some great news- we have many supporting employers who believe in Breakthrough and our alumni, and they are eager to speak with you! These special companies are our Partner Employers, and you have access to them through this exclusive Alumni Portal!

But first things first. We want you to be prepared so you make the best first impression possible, to land that job. And it doesn't end there. We have resources to help you keep advancing and growing in your career!

Here's how it works: To gain direct access to our Partner Employers, you'll need to complete this Career Prep Course. When you do that (an investment of a couple hours of your time), you'll be able to connect directly with our Partner Employers.

You’re a Breakthrough graduate. You have accomplished so much already, and your ambitions match your ability. Your Breakthrough network is ready and able to support you as you pursue your path toward a meaningful career and a life of learning and accomplishment. Your success in life is our focus.

The career preparation content in this program is designed to make you think: about yourself, your goals, your strengths, and the opportunities you have to grow. Each exercise is purposeful, and builds on the others. We want you to take your time with this training and get as much out of it as you can. Complete the exercises for one section and the next one will open for you (there are three in total). After you’ve completed the three training sections you will have access to a group of employers who have specifically asked to meet Breakthrough grads! You will learn about each company, the types of opportunities they have, and how to directly connect with them!

And remember: we are with you every step of the way. Upon completion of this course, we will be offering ongoing additional assistance to interested alumni in preparing your resume, cover letter, and/or getting ready for an interview… please reach out to us if you seek assistance.
